About me

I’m the former Managing Editor for Crochet 1-2-3 and Knit 1-2-3 magazines.  I’ve also done some editorial management for KnitSTYLE  and Happily Hoooked Crochet Magazines.  I’m a freelance crochet designer and editorial manager.

I’ve had designs published in Crochet World, Crochet! Magazine, Love of Crochet, Happily Hooked Crochet Magazine, Crochet 1-2-3 magazines, as well as some books and calendars. I’ve had several designs featured on the PBS television series Knit and Crochet Now and you can find my designs with yarn companies and catalogs including  Caron International, Herrschners, Mary Maxim, and Willow Yarns. When I’m not managing and designing, I enjoy teaching crochet classes at my LYS.

Even though I’m primarily a crocheter, I’m a multi-faceted crafter with experience knitting, crocheting, painting, drawing, sewing, scrapbooking, paper crafting, paper cutting, stained glass, macramé, cross-stitch, digital art, pixel art, latch hook, and probably more that I can’t even remember. I love all crafts!

I love a bargain, so expect to see “thrifty” as an ongoing theme.  I love to find values and up-cycle items.

Thanks for stopping by!

    Carrie,

Can you help me to obtain the following pattern. The links on Ravelry are not functioning. I started making this scarf almost a year ago mis-placed the pattern and was happy to find it again.

It looks like Caron permanently deleted a bunch of patterns from their website since they were purchased by Spinrite. I’ve created a page here on my blog for patterns and added the Columns Scarf as a pdf you can download. To get to the patterns page, look on the right side of the main page of blog, and down towards the bottom. You’ll see “pages” and one option is My Free Crochet Patterns. You’ll find the pattern on this page. I’ll have to go through all my Caron patterns and add them here if they’ve been removed from the Caron site. Thanks for asking about this!!!!!

Would love to get free download of First Impressions Rug pattern but I don’t participate in Facebook. Is there another way to get it for free?

    • Carrie says:

I don’t think so. I think the only ways to get it are by purchasing the magazine or liking Crochet! Magazine on Facebook.
